Dynatrace and Lloyds Banking Group unite, trimming IT carbon footprint.

Dynatrace, a leader in unified observability and security, has partnered with Lloyds Banking Group to reduce IT carbon emissions. To achieve this, Dynatrace is using feedback from Lloyds to develop its Carbon Impact app, which measures the environmental carbon impact of the bank’s IT ecosystem and provides actionable guidance on reducing its IT carbon footprint. The app translates utilization metrics into their CO2 equivalent and details energy and CO2 consumption per source. Dynatrace’s platform and tools provide optimization insights and automatic application and process context to establish a foundation for green coding initiatives. Kevin Bird, Operational Performance and Analytics Lead at Lloyds Banking Group, said that collaborating with Dynatrace has allowed them to see where their efforts are most impactful and identify opportunities to optimize their digital infrastructure to reduce their operational carbon emissions by at least 75%.
